Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can’t keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he’ll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.

Great show! I thought this was going to be a movie. For someone that’s interested in LE field, this is awesome!
  • Nice to see a change from some of the same old

After taking a Long break from the military I went back in, and now that I have been out a while I can view the experience with a bit more thought. Though they rarely had the same valid (making sure it is his calling and making sure he doesn't risk lives) I can enjoy with a bit of wince the realistic age discrimination. Unfortunately age and wisdom are not valued in our society, add to it the rigors demands of jobs like being a cop or in the military I truly enjoyed the first two episodes. SPOILER I also thought it was rather nice not to see the men as always the villain especially in a domestic dispute, so so so over the oh the villain should be a middle aged white guy. Bravo for the new series. Oh and I thought the cast was dam good.

Didn't know Nathan Drake was in SouthLand... Or that it came back...
  • Could have would have should have

It’s such a great idea. It could have been great. The actors are good and solid. If only they had a more original script? It was so unoriginal and the set up of each character was by the numbers. It needs quirks and twists and turns. It was only good in fleeting moments. They should have worked on the script more.
  • Strong pilot.

Tension, chemistry, they do a good job giving us someone to root for. I'll be back.

    Loved the pilot. I'm hooked!
  • It could have been so good...but it's not!

Nathan Fillion is great, he shows his great skills as an actor while injecting that sly humor of his. No problem with his performance. The rest of the show however, is absolute tosh. It looks like an LAPD recruiting video: Welcome to the LAPD, intense action, live in a mini-mansion, and sleep with beautiful rookies. Yet another show made by a committee of coked-up studio execs.
  • He's done it again!

Love love love Fillion! However, I am not fulllllllly convinced on this show just yet. But, he can carry so-so shows for a while COUGH CASTLE COUGH.
